The Venezuelan Difficulty.
(Per Press Association.) New York, January 3. Commercial men in the city strongly censure President Cleveland's action and advise that the question should be submitted to arbitration. London, January 3. The Times, discussing the American commission on the Venezulan frontier difficulty believes it will be without sufficient weight to influence opinion outside the United States. It declares Condert, one of its members, to be biassed, as he recently denounced Great Britain as the bully of the world. January 5. Many English and American newspapers are in sympathy with the proposal of New York Commercial men that a joint British and American Commission should enquire into the Venezuelan dispute. The Daily Chronicle says the highest authorities are in favor of a joint enquiry. Mr Brewer presides over the American Commission.
