SOME RECORDS LOWERED. Fine weather prevailed for the Pioneer Bicycle Club's sports meeting, held at Lancaster Park, Christchurcb, on Boxing Day. The attendance numbered over 4000. In the Half-mile Bicycle Handicap, C.H.Jones, of Christchurch, scratch, won his beat in lmin 7 '2- sth sees, equalling the New Zealand record. J. W. Jones (P. 8.C., 20yds), got home in the final heat, with C. J. Home (Dunedin, 40yds), second. Time, lmin 7secs. The Provincial Championship, one mile, was won by C. H. Jones, Kerr (N.S.W.) second. Time, 2oain 24 l-sth sees. The Ladies' Bracelet, one mile, was won by Kerr, scratch, H. Thompson, 36yds, being second. Ttaie, 2min 20 2-sth sees, which is 3 3-sth under the N.Z. record. C. H. Jones, scratch, won the Two-mile open Handicap in 4min 59 3-sth sees, which is under record time. In the Visitors' Handicap, Buchanan, "WestTaieri, 40yds, was first, with C. Hall, Timaru Tourists, scratch, close up, second. Hall's time was 3aiia 40 3-stn sees (one mile a half) which is another record. At the Cycling Club's sports at Invercar^iU, on Boxing Day, there was a pood attendance and fine weather. The Tenmile Teams Race between the Dunedin and Invercargill Clubs was a very hollow affair, Dunedin scoring 234 points to InvercarßiU's 126. Riddle won the Maiden, W. Bell the Three-mile Cham pionahip of Southland, and Masters the Two* mile Open.
