(Per Press Association.) Hoisart, Dec. 28. A steerage passenger named Alexander Shearer, died from ague during the voyage of the Ruahine from the Cape. Sir E. C. N. Braddon, speaking at Launccston, said that the first time in five years the revenue and expenditure had balanced with a credit for the good. Referring to the Anglo-Ameri-can question, he observed that the little warship Alabama had knocked nearly the whole American mariue to smithereens, and hinted that what had been done before might be done again.
