. «, The twentieth annual meeting of the Feiiding Athletic Club will be held on Boxing Day, and, given fine weather, the crowd of holiday • makers should be larger than on any previous occasion. The committee are noted for their excellent management of the sports — a fact which has, to a very great extent, been instrumental in making such sports the most popular iD the colony. Everything is done which would tend to afford a pleasurable outing for the strictest moralist. No intoxicating liquors are allowed on the ground, neither is opon betting permitted on any consideration whatever, consequently athletes and spectators attend purely for the love of genuine sport. The numbers of entries this year for the several events are considerably above those of all previous years and keen contests may be expected, especially in the cycling events, which are increasing in popularity every day.
