(Continued.) 'tba Board came to (he following conclusions in regard to the requests of the Makori settlers :— To give them particulars of the new valuations ; to add 10 per cent to the value of improvements; no power to refund survey fees ; no power to use surplus rents to reduce valuation ; no provision for acceptance of surrenders of deferred payment sections ; the classification will not debar women electors from again taking up their land ; to reoommend to the Minister to allow selectors to take up fresh leases on day of application if no other person applies. Mr B. B. Wilson, on behalf of the set* tiers, thanked the Board for the considerate way in which they had been treated, and said that he thought the result would give general satisfaction. The conversion of section 160, Block XIV-. Makuri, W. Dunning, to lease in perpetzriiy, was agreed to. It was decided to hold a special meeting of the Board on January 3rd. The schedule of prices oi land in the Marton No. 4 F. H. Settlement was approved. Section 22, Block X., Mt. Cerberus, was forfeited, to be rescinded if rent due be paid by January 15. T. McNaaght, section 22, Block VI., Makotuku, was allowed a month's extension of time to pay rent due. The Board then adjourned.— Standard.
