Shocking Death of a Doctor.

FURTHER PARTICULARS. (Per Press Association.) Gisborne, This Day. Dr Heale left town on Tuesday after* noon for the purpose of witnessing a good baeb fir© (never having seen ooe before) at his oroperty, Waimate Valley, with bis partner. Mr Fred Lysnar. Mr Akroyd and a party of men went out at midday. The men separated and set fire to a bush (about 800 acres of which was j felled) in various* directions. Heale, Lynear and Akroyd reached a spur at the extreme end of tho property, and Lysnar leaving his companions in safety in standing bush oa the hillside, went into the gully to light a fire. He met with a mishap, and Akroyd went to his assistance, telling Heale to remain where he was. On their rQtmn in half an hour Akroyd and Lysnar found the doctor gone. Immediate search was made and kept up all night. Next morning a large number of settlers went out, and all yesterday the country was scoured without finding any traces of the missing man. This morning his charred remains were found about a chain in the burned bush. It is presumed that he went there to hght a fire, aad was overtaken by the flames. Dr Heale leaves a wife and four children. __„______
