A polo match was played at Feilding yesterday afternoon between , a 7 team from Hawkes Bay and a Wmrepieeen*; ting the local dab. The 'tpiinß were as follows :— Hawke's Baj4fU) A. H. Russell, (2) 0. In this spell the Hawke's Bay players had it ahnost all then* own ~ way, the local men and ponieV 'appeal - ing to be very raw from want' ol practice. In tbe next spell of ten. minutea Feilding livened up a bit and play ''was more equal and interesting they narrowly missing a score, en three or four occasions. The third' spell was the fast* est and most interesting dnrin&the game. Within a few minutes from the com* mencement Gorton scored two, goals for Feilding in quick succession, and 'within * two minutes after G. Russell .scored for the visitors. Play , continued fast, and Gorton and Chamber* scored goals) for ' their respective sides. Giesen also scored before the spell concluded. In the next spell neither v ,side scored, but in the following one Gorton/scored from a free hit and A. H. RnaselT scored for the visitors. In the leet " spell tbe play was very exciting and A. H.
