HEAVY DUTIES DEMANDED. (Per Press Association.) London, December 19. Importers of cattle at Malta desire that Australian meat should be subject to double or treble duty than that imposed on live stock. The Agent-General waited on tbe Secretary of State for the colonies with the object of preventing the imposition of such heavy duties, ! especially as Malta bad granted favor* able duties for the importation of Rus- 1 siau beef.
