Last Extremity of an Old man.

I (Per Press Association.) ' Adelaide;, Dec. 12. The recent interruption of the overland line to Port Darwin is explained by the fact that the Departmental repairers discovering the wires were cut near Alice Springs, traced some foot prints through the bush, and found an old man in the last extremity. He said he had been two days without water, and becoming almost demented cut the wire in tbe hope of attracting relief.
