The New Zealand Mail.
The Christmas number of the New Zealand Mail which has just come to hand, is an evidence of what skill and enterprise can accomplish. Much of the success of the Mail may safely be attributed to the present editor. The number now before us contains some well written and interesting stories, a mass of useful information for farmers i and general readers, and, perhaps, best of all is the description of a trip over the railway line from Wellington to Wanganui, and through th« Wairarapa Valley to the Manawatu Gorge. The engravings are remarkably good, and the whole "get up" of the paper is creditable to the editor, Mr C. Wilson, and the employes. The several towns visited are described with graphic power and viracity of style. That of Feilding is specially up to the mark and we have no reason to doubt but the others are equally accurate in details and discription. We have no hesitation in saying that this is the most advanced Christmas Number yet published in the colony. As a souvenir to forward to friends and relations in other parts of the world it is specially adapted.
