Diseased Cattle.

(Per Press Association.) Sydney, December 4. A conference of members of stock boards of the colony was held for the purpose of devising a means of protecting stock owners in regard to the response bility of diseased cattle after being passed by the Government inspector and sold. A deputation was appointed to wait on the Premier and urge an amendment m the law in this direction. Subsequently a deputation interviewed the Premier, who promised careful consideration of the question next session, which will be devoted to legislation tending for the purification of food and drink, and improving the health of the people. In the meantime Government would take steps to prevent the Courts being used to persecutor stock owners. The Premier also took the opportunity to announce that Government intended to take prompt steps to materially reduce railway freights for stock and agricultural produce. In order to meet the consequent loss of revenue, the Railway Commissioners will be voted a sum of money each year as a set off.
