" Hippona," of the Star, chooses Euroclydon, St. Hippo, and The Possible as likely to supply the winner of the Auckland Cup, and favors most the chances of Mutiny, Belle, and Roscius in the Steeplechase. At a meeting of the Committee of the Manawatu Racing Club held last evening, it was decided that bookmakers be not licensed, and that no betting be allowed straight out or otherwise on the course, a motion that bookmakers be charged £10 per day being lost. Mr J. R. McMillan was authorised to sell the privileges for the Summer Meeting.
