At the Police Court to-day a well known farmer was charged under the Licensing Act with having been found on licensed premises, being a prohibited person. The defence was that he went to the hotel for luggage. The police stated he bad been in a drunken state in town for several days. The Magistrate imposed a fine of 5s and costs.
