Library Committee.

A meeting of the Library Committee was held last evening. Present — Messrs J. H. Stevens (chairman), J. G. Cobbp, T. Watson, L. E. Reade, G,. W. Fowles, A. R. Allan, and Rev. W. H. Judkinsi, The sub-cqmmittee appointed to draw up rules for the guidance of the Librarian submitted a report, "which was adopted with slight alterations. The Chairman reported the nett result of the tableaux entertainment -was .£26 8s 9d, and on the motion of Mr Reade, seconded by Mr Allan, it was resolved that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the promoters and the ladies and gentlemen who assisted to make it the success it was. Resolved, That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the chairman, Mr Stevens, for the active part he took in forwarding the interests of the library in the recent entertainment. Resolved, That Messrs (Jobbe and Judkins be a s'lib-conirnittee to purchase books to the extent of £5. As this committee's term of office expires at the end of the year it was decided to submit the names of the following gentlemen to the Borough" Council as those of suitable persons to; be appointed i- Messrs J. H: 'Stevens,' T. Watson, -JJ- G. Cobbe, G. W. Fowle's, A. R. Allan, L. E. Reade, S.Andrew, W. H. Judkins, N. Friberg, J. Greenwood, W. Spence, and Stewart.
