At the wool sales 8300 bales were catalogued yesterday and 6800 sold. The competition was eager for superior wool, but there was no tendency of improvement in price. Medium and all inferior sorts sold up to late quotations. The demand for crossbreds is languid. Ja- I comb and Co. bave catalogued 2412 hales. To-night there is unusual interest taken as a decline of from five to seven and a half per cent is expected. At the wool sales the activity was uofc diminished, and there was keen competition for good lines in all better classes. Merinos fully maintained the rises while crossbreds remained firm.
