A Terrible Suffering of an Exploring Party .
(Per Press Association.) Tbubsday Islanc, Nov. 23. Newß has been received of the great ■offerings of the exploring expedition in German New Guinea. The party was led by a well-known German naturalist, sent ont for the purpose of exploration, onA the commandant of police in German New Gninea. After being out two months the rations were exhausted, and they lived on grass and water. The members were attacked by a scourge of poisonous flies and leeches, and the flesh of all festered. Tbeir sufferings were terrible, and all were in an emaciated condition. They decided to make for British New Guinea for succour. In attempting to cross a river on a raft the two leaders and a number of natives were drowned. The survivors ' had great difficulty in sustaining life and were almost famished. They made their way through the dense jungle towards the coast, where they were met and rescued by a friendly tribe. One died from weakness, and the others are unlikely to recover.
