The Governor's Visit.
The following is the reply of His Excellency the Governor, to the address presented to him on the occasion of bis visit to Feilding on Monday last. 1 "Mr Mayor, and Councillors of the Borough of Feilding : — 11 I have to thank you for the loyal and cordial address which you presented , to me on the 18th instant - and not onty I you but your fellow citizens for the , hearty welcome you gave me then on ■ the occasion of my first visit to your Borough. 1 have since driven through your township, and was struck by the 1 evidences of progress and prosperity which I saw everywhere. I found myself in the most closely settled district I have seen iv the Colony. I saw wellbuilt houses, well fenced and well watered fields and I observe that in a few more years your lands will be entirely cleared and fit for any sort of tillage. I ; sincerely trust that the energy and skill 1 which have been manifested since the foundation of the settlement will receive their due reward, and that your Borough and its neighborhood will in the future i enjoy the prosperity it deserves. (Signed) "Glasgow." Wellington, 21st November, 1895.
