Gorton and Son's Stock Sale.
♦ Messrs Gorton and Son held their monthly stock sale at Feilding yesterday afternoon, the attendance being very good. The bidding opened freely and was more spirited throughout than at the previous sale, showing a great improvement in prices. Young cattle sold very freely, and all the cattle with the exception of four lots were quitted. All the sheep yarded were sold. The following prices were realised :— Cattle — Weaners and yearlings, 35s to £2 4s ; 2£ to 8-year steers, £3 8s 6d to £3 15s ; fat cows, M 4s 6d to M 17s 6d ; 2£ to 3-year heifers, £2 15s to £2 18s ; forward bullocks, £4 19s ; forward cows, £3 10s ; store cows, £2 17s to ,£3 ; small weaners, Us to 20s ; 2 to 2^ -year mixed cattle, £2 7s 6d. Sheep— Fat shorn wethers, 8s ; forward shorn ewes, 5s lOd ; good ewes and lambs, 12s 3d; inferior ewes and lambs, 6s od. Mr Munro's J farm was submitted for sale but passed in.
