The Sugar Beet Industry.
(Per Press Association.) Syt>ney. This Day. The Government Statistician reporting on the growth of sugar beet says :— Regarding the test roots grown for experimental purposes in different districts, experts pronounce the yields unparalleled in the history of the cultivation of beet. • Should the cultivation fulfil bnt half the expectations of the promoters there is little doubt it will greatly modify the agriculture of the colony, and add another profitable staple to its resources. Coghlan also reports there, are very large areas suitable to the growth of beet.
