TO THE EDITOE OF THE STAB. Sir,— ln my letter of the 16th instant, I stated that certain atrocities had been committed in the State of Kansas. I beg to state that I was mistaken— it should have read Texas. Of course the inferences I deduced from the crimes aforesaid do not, therefore, apply ( to Kansas or the condition of things existing there. I am sorry that I made the mistake as I have no wish to injure the Prohibition movement by statements that are not correct.
