« The Education Board commenced its monthly meeting last night. Present — Messrs Careon (chairman), Sanson, Fry, Bridge, Baker. Beckett, Hurley, Pirani M.H.R., and Rev J. Eoss The following business was transacted in Committee : — Halcombe— Mis3 Staite appointed pupil teacher. Bulls— Miss Scott, assistant teacher, has resigned, owing to ill health Resignation accepted with regret. Beef Creek — Mr Stansell was granted six week's sick leave with one month on pay. Cheltenham— H. Coventry was granted leave to attend examination from 10th to 18th December, inclusive. Feilding — Mr H. C. Stewart was appointed first assistant teacher. Sanson — H. Bowater, pupil teacher, was granted leave of absence from the 10th to 16th December, inclusive. Ongo Road Appointment of a teacher. Referred to the Executive. Bulls— For the vacant assistant membership it was resolved to forward the names of Misses Ewing, Staffan, Ayres, Martin, Alicia Prendergnst, Eliza Lowe and Mrs Peat. Porewa Vacancy — Resolved to send on the name of Mr Mason, of Kohi, if willing. — Chronicle
