Victoria scored 220 runs in their first innings (Graham 50, Layer 42, and Perrymau 34), and 329 in their second innings (Harry 107, Trott 50, Lewis 34, and McLeod 35). In the first innings Giffen took 3 wickets for 108, and Jones 3 for 51. Iv the second innings Giffen took 5 wickets for 145, Clayton 2 for 21, Jones 2 for 66, Readman 1 for 22. Iv their second inuings the South Australians lost 8 wickets for 205 runs — Darling 50, Hill 41, A. Jarvis 32, F. Jarvis 29. The inniugs opened iuauspiciously, Giffen going down for 6 and Lyons for 10, but Darling and Hill played fast and excellent cricket. With only two wickets to fall the local eleven have 182 to get to win.
