THIS DAY. (Before Messrs G. Bull and William Bailey, J.P.s) William McDermott was charged on the information of the police, on two separate charges, that he did steal the carcase of one sheep on the 13th October, and one lamb and pelt of one lamb on October 113 th, the property of E. O. McDermott. The two charges were taken as one case. Constable Tuoby conducted the prosecution, Mr L. E. i Reado appeared for accused, who pleaded " Not guilty." Constable Tnoby called E. <x. McDermptt, W. B. llicbards.on, and G. Halfoid, who gave evidence in support of ttici charges.' The evidence was of a similar nature to that taken in the previous charge. Mr Reade submitted the case should be dismissed, and gave his reasons. The Magistrates retired for a fewniiuutes, and on their return dismissed the case on the grounds there was no felonious intept.
