* (Per Press Association). Auckland, Nov. 7. A child, ten months old, daughter of James O'Connor, farmer, Pukekohe, was drowned by falling into a boiler containing lynches of water. Wellington, November 8. In the Magistrate's Court to-day the charges against John Henry Brown and his wife, Alice Brown, of having performed an illegal operation on a young woman who died at Palmerston North were partly heard, and remanded until the 13th inst. Reefton, November 8. A sharp shock of earthquake was felt here at 2 p.m. to-day. Gisborne, November 8. The Harbor Board has agreed to lease their property to the proposed co-opera-tive freezing works company. Nelson, This Day. A fourteen year old daughter of Mr Lask Harris was drowned while bathing in the Matai river yesterday. Hawera, This Day. A very heavy shock of earthquake was felt at 3.13 this morning.
