o ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (Per Press Association.) Sydney, November 7. At the conspiracy trial the Benoh held that a prima feoie case was established, and committed all five accused for trial. Crick in his statement said he knew nothing of the true facts until they were set out in Meagher's declaration. Up to the time of Sir Julian Salomon's speech in the Legislative Council he believed Dean innocent. Nothing had occurred to make him doubt the trnth of what Meagher had told him. Several witnesses gave evidence that before and while the Dean case was proceeding strained relations existed between Crick and Meagher, also tbat Crick was constantly complaining that Meagher took too much upon himself and acted without consulting his partner ; further that a dissolution of partnership was pending. Wit* nesses also deposed that Crick was under the influence of drink when he delivered his speech in the Legislative Assembly against Sir Julian Salomons. Meagher made a statement iv which he said he had done many things he regretted, but not of which he was ashamed. He would conduct his own case in tbe highest Court The other accused reserved their defence.
