England and Her Colonies.
| Pee Fbess Association.] London, Nov. 6. At the Natal-Transvaal Railway banquet Mr Chamberlain said the relations between Great Britain and the autonomous colonies were critical. The security of Imperial role depends on the temper and tone in which they approach coming problems. The colonists have grown into a vigorous people, with every element of national life to rank as a nation, but as the possibility of separation incressed happily the desire was lessened and patriotism evidenced. He had no . doubt of the ultimate union of Africa, as maoh of the difficulty was in the lack of local federation.
