Feilding Bowling Club.

o A general meeting of members of the Feilding Bowling Club was held in the Denbigh Hotel last evening. Present — Messrs W. A. L. Bailey (in the chair), H. W. Davy (secretary), J. McLaren, W. Hodren, C. Bray, senr., W. Dickson, B. Gosling, W. G. Haybittle, H. L. Sherwill, P. Thomson, J. Scott, G. Saywell, W. Light, E. Goodbehere, J. C. Hill, H. Worsfold. A letter was read from the Palmerston Bowling Club, admitting members of this club as hon. members to the Palmerston Club until the Feildin? green was open. Resolved, on the motion of Mr Sherwill, seconded by Mr Gosling, That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the Palmerston N. Bowling Club in electing them as honorary members until this club's green is in order for play. The principal business of the evening was the consideration of ways and means of keeping the green in order. The actual cost of the green, including purchase of the land, was £303 12s 7d. The funds available went to cover this expenditure, and provision had to be made to cover the cost of maintenance. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Goodbehere, seconded by Mr Sherwill, That in order to provide funds for necessary expenditure a levy of one guinea be made upon each member. Resolved, That Mr H. Worsfold's offer to keep the green in order till September next for £24 be accepted. Resolved, That a general meeting be held on November 21st, at the Feilding Hotel, at 8 p.m., for the purpose of electing officers for the ensuing year, and general business. Resolved, That the secretary be instructed to have members' cards printed. Resolved, That Mr Gosling be instructed to paint the gate to the green and put notice up warning trespassers against going on the green. Resolved, That Mr Bray's offer to take up debentures for his claim for supervising the work of making the green be accepted, and that he be accorded a vote of thanks. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
