INTERVENTION OF THE GREAT POWERS. ATTITUDE OF THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT. (Per Press Association) Constantinople. Not. 6. The Sultan has recalled Tewfik Pasha, Turkish Ambassador in Berlin, who is to be appointed to a high position here. London, Nov. 6. The Powers have peremptorily demanded of the Porte to terminate anarchy, otherwise they will arrange concerted steps with Austria. Germany and Italy, who claim equal rights with Great Britain, Russia and France, in the settlement of the matter. A manifesto has been issued by the Young Turkish Party, which appeals to the natives to assist in the reform of the Empire, and not in regard to race or religion. It is understood that the British Government are taking up a firm attitude on the question.
