(FROM A CORRESPONDENT.) The 1.0. G.T. Lodge held its usua weekly meeting in the school room las! Saturday evening. Three new mem fen were initiated, and three mow were proposed for membership. Th< following officers were elected forth eosuinTquarter:— Bro. Adamson O.T. Bro. A? Hickford, secretary; Sister E Moffatt, V.T. ; Sister E. B. Moffatt, F.S. Bro. F. Handcock, treasurer; Bro. A, Millward, C; Sister M. Moffatt, Mar shall; Bro. M. Marton, P.C.T.; Bro Theobald, E.D. ; Bro. P. Moffatt, D.M. ; Bro. W. Toy. A.S. For the good of the order Bros. Millward and A. Hickford save a reading each, and Bros. w. i£oner, jfsmaU and G. Theobald each contributed a song. . It has been definitely decided to hold a public debate during this month in the Town Hall on the subject " Is prohibition advantageous to mankind. The affirmative speakers are Messrs A. Millward, T. McKean and A. Hickford, and the negative side will be taken up by Messrs C. Dyer, Fitton and J.Taylor. Mrs J. D. McGregor is to be asked to lake the chair. , , Buildings are steadily being erected in and around this locality. At Rua fame quite a number of cottages aro now erected on what originally was the State Farm. At Rangiwabia Mr G. Martin has just had a large and beautiful dwellinghouse erected. Mr M. Martin, also, has the necessary timber on the ground lor erecting a similar mansion. I regret to announce that Mrs Moffatt has been very ill of late, but rejoice to know that she has wonderfully improved the last few days, and I trust that her improvement will be of a permanent character. Through uncontrolable circumstances we are again compelled to P°stP° n <L indefinitely our annual Cncket Club Ball, which has been announced to take place On the 9th inst, but I understand some persons interested in dancing willhave a public dance in the town hall on the 9th.
