The manager of tho Waihi Goldrnining Company has received instructions from Home by cable to prepare for the erection of a new battery of 100 stamper! on a site six miles from the mine, to be con nected there with by a steam tramway. Thi» will raise the crashing power ot the Company's batteries to 190 stampers. Wellington, Nov. 5. Arrived at 4. p.ui — Ruapehu from London, via the Cape and Hobart. Dusedin, Novr. 6. At Lawrence to day, Sue Kot was committed for trial on a charge of shooting at two women and men on tha I6th and wounding them. He presented a haggard appearance, having evidently suffered ranch. _______________
