Sir W. Buller's Bill of Costs.

o (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This Day. Sir Walter Buller's memorandum, which was laid on the table, states he drew up his first bill of costs in the Wakaneaori libel case on the minimum scale as between solicitor and client, without the slightest idea of its being subjected to taxation. When he ascertained that Government intended to have the bill taxed, he withdrew the bill, and added to it, charging in every instance the maximum costs he considered himself entitled by law to claim. He contended this was only reasonable, seeing that a friendly bill of costs, as between solicitors and clients, was now to be taxed as a hostile bill.
