o Messrs Abraham and Williams report ; Since last report we have held two sales viz, Pahiatua and Palmerston. At the former last Tuesday cattle were numerous and all sold. Sheep in short supply found purchasers at quotations. Yesterday at Palmerston all classes of stock came forward largely in excess of advertised numbers. The lower rates for ' cattle fixed by recent sales prevailed, but bidding was brisker leaving little unsold. Sheep dragged rather though i We cleared all but some hoggets. A moderate entry of pigs commanded full rates. Pahiatua— Sheep: Fat ewes in wool, 10s 9d ; ewes and lambs, 9s 6d ; aged do. 5s 6d to 7s 3d. Cattle : Spring- ; ing heifers, L 2 12s to L 5; milch cows, L 4 4s ; 3-year steers, L 3 7s 6d ; 2,-year do. L 3; forward bullocks, L 5 ls ; weaners, 22s 6d to 38s. Palmerston— Sheep : Fat shorn wethers, 7b 9d to 8s ld ; boggets, 7s to 9s 6d : dry ewes, 8s 9d to 9s 9d ; a small line of choice Lincoln ewes and lambs, 15s. Cattle : Prime fat cow, L 6 7s 6d ; medium fat cows, L 5 to L 5 9s 6d ; high weights, L 4; well bred 16 months steers, L 2 2s 6d; do. mixed sexes, L 2 Is; 2-yr steers, L 2 15s to L 3 2s 6d : 3-yr do, L 3 10s to L 8 16s ; mixed yearlings, 31s ; 2- year Shorthorn bull, L 6; yearling do., L 5.
