REPLY TO "HOLDFAST."
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir,— l would like to tell " Holdfast " that although I hold a skipper's certificate, my motto is Baracouta. lam descended from a Norwegian king, while my father was a king of the anvil — a blacksmith — so, "Holdfast "being also of aristocratic descent, I admire him. He says the Ministry are proud of their dimensions — so was Rosebery, but the working men arose and turned him and his friends out, neck and crop. I can tell " Holdfast " lam a thorough Liberal, and would take the billet of Minister for 4J500 a year, and throw my family motto to Auld Cloutie. "Holdfast" may talk of " watching and spoiling little games." Let him, but neither myself nor others like me who voted for the Government at the last election, will ever do so again. I am, &c.)
