Messes Pernberton and Morgan, who were ajipointed as a deputation to wait on the Linister of Lands and urge the necessity which existed for the Govern- < ment to assist the settlers in the Apiti i Riding of the Kiwitea County, in getting ' the Kimbolton road from Beef Creek northwards put in order before next winter, were introduced to the Minister of Lands yesterday, by Mr John Stevens, M.H.R., who urged the claims of the settlers in the Riding in question. The Minister promised to write to<the County Council and ascertain whether the Council is prepared to take steps to repair the road, with a view, if possible, of the Government rendering some assistance. He trusted the Council would take immediate action. The deputation thanked ! the Minister and withdrew.
