Melbourne, Oct. 27 South Australians are very confident about Auraria winniog the Derby and Cup. It is stated that she wound up a gallop over two miles in 3min 38sec, and this with her shoes on. Action, 7st 71b, beat Perturbation and Successor and 12 others in the Ngarveno Handicap, at Mooney Valley yesterday, traversing the mile and a quarter in lmin Bisec. In the Mooney Valley Cup Our Jack defeated Selim and Erman-na-Mauck, and 10 others, the time being lmin SOsec for seven furlongs. Owing to Callum Mohr dashing away with an impossible pace, which he was unable to keep up, Palo Alto won the Phoenix Handicap, 1 mile and 110 yards in lmin 50|sec ; Enreka second, and Callum Mohr third. Five others constituted the field.
