A. and P. Show.

Visitors to the A. and P7 S&p\fr wlfl appreciate the excellent arrangements which have been made for this year's gathering. The leading firms of the colony are well represented, arid visitors will find mnch in this department fo'ar*, rest their attention. The Massey- Harris company represented by Mr Armstrong, have an excellent show of their' far* famed implements ; indeed , a better exhibit in this department has not been seen on any show-ground in the North Island. There are no less than eight of the noted Massey-Haxris reapers and binders are on view. , Messrs Barraud and Abraham are the local agents., Messrs Booth, Mac Donald & Co. have a fine show of implements, an inspection ■ of which will well repay those interested in the farming industry. . ThefinriTiaye . turned out a number of newinjplem^fcts, and effected improyemerijte on igaipiy which they haye been, maMne for many years and which have gained for them considerable note throughout Australasia. Two windmills, the Te Angi and Kiwi, are on view, The latter, just patented by Mr G.rigg, is on an entirely new principle, and for use on placef where a large quantity of water is not required, will doubtless recommend itself to farmers and others. Messrs Barraud and Abraham are the local agents. Mess Reid and Grey are to ,the fore again with another highly attractive show of their well and favorably known implements. The firm's doable and single furrow ploughs have been mi-, proved by fitting them with a patent lifting leyer , which' allows of the machine being raised and lowered without stopping. A very useful implement is that which can be converted from an ordinary double furrow plough into a single furrow or single furrow digging plough or double furrow digging plough. The force feed grain, turnip and manure drills have an improvement which adds considerably to their value. The feed is so contrived that any breakages through impediments are absolutely prevented, and dry and wet manure can be distributed with equal facility. A fan mill for cleaning grain seeds of every description will commend itself as being worthy of purchase by any farmer, and another time and' labour" saving contrivance is a Cambridge" roller, ;with turnip and rapei'sdWir/g- attachment. ' Atriitogsk' other exhibits are 1 dtfag harrows ana grubbers, two le4'f sets of tine bar-' tows', Which have been improved u£ou

since last exhibited here. The United Farmers' Alliance hold the local agency. The "Walter A. Wood Company nave a fine collection of useful harvesting machines. ■ Messrs P. and D. Duncan, have a very good collection of implements, and fully maintain the reputation they have gained as manufacturers I throughout the Colony. . The McCormick collection of harvesting machines is exhibited by Messrs Morrow, Bassett & Co., .of Christchurch. The McCormick reaper and binder improved of late in many respects, is so well known that it requires no commendation. Messrs, Andrews: and Beaven, of Ghristchnrch have a collection of their well-known chaff-cutters, which have gained -for the firm an Australasian reputation: Messrs Barraud and Abraham are the local agents. Milk-cooler, chopping and shearing competitions have been added to the list of attractions of- the show this year. There are seven stallions entered in the thoroughbred class, and aix in the draught class. Competition in the hack classes should he keen, as there are excellent entries in all sections. All classes of cattle and sheep are well represented, especially Shorthorn, Hereford and Ayrshire in cattle, and Romney Marsh and Lincoln in sheep. • A gfeat show of implements a«d agricnltural machinery is promised this year. • Visitors are arriving from all quarters. All the hotels are full, and where the j late arrivals are to be accomodated will ! be a very difficult problem to solve.
