A Domestic Tragedy.
A .terrible domestic tragedy was enacted at Rennes, France on August the 14th. A woman named Couven had gone tp lunch at her father's house, when unexpectedly the door opened and her husband walked in, holding a revolver in his hand. The pair, it is stated, had been constantly quarrelling during the last few days. Suspecting that her husband's intention was to shoot her, Mme. Couven jumped from the table and fled towards the adjoining room while her father M. Menard, to protect her rushed between her and his infuriated son-in-law. With an exclamation of anger Coven raised his weapon and fired killing M. Menard on the spot. Then giming at hjfs wife, Coyen fired two shots in succession, in^ictipg fatal injuries.' His vengeance satisfied, Gpven Walked out, leaving his wife dying on the floor, mounted his bicyeje, which he had left at the dosr, and rode quietly off in the direption of the cemetery. On arriving there be made his way to the side of the grave of his mother, and shot himself twice in the head, death ensuing in a , few moments.
