The Full Cpurt of Appeal was occupied to-day with, » pase reserved under the Criminal Code Apt? 4 fc 'b®. criminal Bittings of the Supreme Court at Punedjn in June last, Benjamin Bean, hotel, keeper, was indioted on ten counts for offences under the Bankruptcy Act. The jury found a verdict of guilty on six of the counts, in effect that the books kept by Bean did not disolpße his true position, and that he had failed to account to the Assignee for sis cases of brandy and a sum of £71 4b 4d, It was contended by Mr Solomon, counsel for the defence, that the verdict amounted to one of not guilty, and the Court of Appeal was asked to determine the point. The Appeal Court held that a verdict of guilty should have been entered at the trial, and directed that a verdict of guilty should now be entered.
