■ ■ o DEATH SENTENCE COMMUTED. I Per Press Association I WELLINGTOW, Oct. 18. The Cabinet this evening had under consideration the case of John Keown, who was sentenced to death at the last sittings of the Supreme Court, Invercar. gill, for the wilful murder of H. Stewart at Balfour, and has decided to recommend the Governor to commute the death sentence to one of imprisonment for life.
