Feilding Athletic Club.
A meeting of the Athletic dab committee was Held in Mr H. L. . Sherwill's office last evening, Present. — Messrs W. A. L. Bailey (chairman), H.L. Sher* will, P. Thompson, G. Lethbridge, E. H. Fisher, H. .Worsfold, A. R. Allan, 6. Bay well, A. C. Matheson, R, H. Whisker, E. Mills, B. Gosling. A letter was read from Mr Pownall, secretary of the Wan* ganui Amateur Athletic Club, suggesting that the winners of the amateur events shonld.be allowed to choose their own trophies to the value allotted by the committee- After discussion, it was decided to give the winners of the amateur events orders on Mr James Scott for the, pur* chase of any trophy they preferred to the value of the prize. The programme as drawn, up by the sub-committee appointed for the purpose was considered and slight alterations made thereto. The amount of prize money to be given away was in* creased from £156 to L 164 and the pro* gramme will be the same as last year with the exceptions, that two amateur events, 100 and '440 yards, have* been in* terted in place of the champion race and kicking the football, and a fixe-miFc bicyelo race has been inserted in place of the wrestling competition. •
