Decided, that as many as possible do their firing on Wednesday next. Resolved, That the Captain beasked to make an application to the Defence Department for a grant towards the maintenance of the range. Martini rifles were allotted to Captain Eirton, Lieutenant Barltrop, Vols. Parkes and * Wilson. It was decided that there should be two classes this season, Martini and Snider, and that both be handicaps. Lieutenant Bray and Vol.. Scott, were elected handicappers, the limits to be— for Martini 18, and Snider 14. Prizes were allotted as follow: Captain. Kirton'B Martini-Henri rifle to the Mar* tini class, and Mrs Kirton's watch to the Snider class ; the conditions to be the first five wins, or three wins in sucoes* sion. Martini class three ranges, seven . shots and sighters; Snider class, two .1 ranges, seven shots and sighters ; ranges . in both classes to be altered from time to time by the Committee, who will also ' have the power to postpone any compe* tion at ' any stage if necessary. Three competitors to finish or no competition. Snider class to start at 5 a.m., and both" * ' classes at 2 p.m., on Wednesdays, ap- ' pointed by the Committee— the first competi tion to Ie on October 80th. The Secretary was instructed' v to arrange a" Martini match with Marton Boyals for November 9th.
