Stock Markets.
O Messrs Abraham and Williams report : At oar Palmerston sale yesterday cattle mastered freely, a large proportion being young stock, the bulk of which did not sell, vendors hardly reconciling themselves to the drop of 5s per head, which established itself during the early part of the day. Other classes of cattle were dull of sale also, most of the business being done privately and this was of a limited nature. Sheep, in average numbers, were without alteration, in price. Lines passed in found purchasers afterwards, all but one lot being sold. The farm of Mr Mansfield containing something like 70 acres in the Kairanga, was very keenly competed for among a good many different bidders who recognising the good fattening qualities of the soil in that part of the district, speedily ran it up to £15 per acre, at which price Mr Byman became the purchaser.
