.«. . (Per Press Association.) Auckland, Oct. 4. Mr Galbraith, metallurgist, has brought up from Parihaka block, Whangarei, several parcels of stuff, which on beinsj tested yielded bullion. He is going on with the tests. The stuff does not require crushing, but simply shaken iv boxes and sluiced over the plates. A strike of boys employed at the Anck land rope and twine works has occurred. One boy was discharged, whereat a number of his comrades became indignant and refused to start work till he was taken on again. Tho manager refused, and eleven boys stood out aud refused to go to the works a^iin, while the rest went to work. The malcontents are now locked out imd the boys who stuck to work are getting increased wajjes, Wellington. Oct. 4. The Anglican Synod has decided that the following names of districts be added to the list of those sending one representative each to the Synod. Waimate, Wuitotara, Ilnnterville, Plains, Pahiatua, Pohangina, Ongrt, and Apiti.
