o (Per i*ress Association}. Auckland, Oct. 2. The Woodstock United banked jL'tjS'J worth of bullion from 240 tons of quartz. At the Chamber of Minos the following resolution was passed : " That the proposed duty on ruining machinery is inimicablo to the development of the industry in the colony and is calculated to retard the progress ami obstruct the introduction of capital, it will stop the arrangements now nearly concluded for the flotatiou of companies in England. The costly machinery, which cannot be manufactured iv the colony, is essential for its operation. The resolution will bo forwarded to the Premier and both the Goldtields Committees ami the goldfiekls resreseutatives. K.KKB-TOK, Oct. 2. Following divivdends have been declared :— Keep- it Dark, 6d per share, equal to i'soo, makiu" the 100 th dividend, the total drclare-l be iu^ i:107,10f) on a called up capital of XG2OB; Bulkr Dredge, 5.5 d per share, equal to 1150. During the past six months the latter Company paid Is Gd per share in divi dends, and placed Gd per share to the reserve fund.
