Rangiwahia Notes.
o (By " Cook-coo." For several weeks past we have experienced beautiful weather, compared with what wg havo been before having. The roads and bridle track in this locality dried up nicely, but this last few days have again brought down a large fall of rain, which will very much hinder the drying process of our roads. The country beyond here is being settled rapidly, and all round progress is being made by settlers in the various blocks of land which have been- purchased some time ago from the Government. The Cricket Club opened its season last Saturday with a good scratch game, a number of spectators being present. There is some talk of the Club holding its annual ball in the near future, as the roads will shortly enable people to get about to enjoy themselves. Tho Joy of Rangiwahia Lodge, 1.0. G.T., is holding weekly meetings with great success, and new members arc fast being added to its ranks. Considerable disgust is being expressed by ratepayers through the appointment of a cattle ranger, and steps are being taken to have his services dispensed with. A petition in favor of this is being largely signed.
