A Publican in Trouble.

(Per Press Association.) INVEBCAEGILL, Sept. 29. Hugh McAlister, licensee of the Shamrock Hotel, was charged at the Magistrate's Court with Sunday trading. The defence was that thej two men supplied firemen on the Hiuemoa, who represented themselves as travellers, and on tins ground the case was dismissed. Lines, one of the firemen, was. afterwards charged with fraudulent misrepresentation. He admitted telling the landlord he camo from the Bluff, and said he honestly believed he was entitled to refroshment, although he arrived in town the previous night. -The Bench accepted his statement, and dismissed the case.
