C. Williams became bondsinou. Leonard Harper lelt by to-night's boat for Lyttelton. Inspector Pender was also a passebger. The warrants in Inspector Pender's possession relate to eight separate charges of fraud ulont conversion in addition to that on which be was brought up today—viz, of misappropriating £1500 entrusted to him by J. H. Robin, Harper is charged with having converted to his own use J21751 entrusted to him by Wm. Miles, Ellen Miles, and Eliza Hurst, £1000 belonging to Wm. S. Passmore, £1000 of Wm. M. Barnes' £750 of Mary Lousia Webber's (being part of a trust of £2000), £3000 of Wm. Hatnam's, £275 of Thos. A. Hope's (being part of a trust of £2000), and £2250|0f Hugh H. Gillett's (part of a trust of £5000).
