Rangitikei-Manawatu Cricket Association.

The annual meetiug of the Rangitikei* Mauawatu Cricket Association was held at Mrs Hastie's Feilding Hotel last evening, the following delegates being present : — Messrs D. Entwisle and W. H. Power, Colyton Club ; F. Barlow and E. W. Tompkins, Birmingham ; Grant and Benson, Feilding ; C. Bowater and W. Broughton, Carnarvon ; A. H. Tompkins (secretary) and A. G. Carty (treasurer. Mr Carty was voted to the chair. The report and balance-sheet were read, showing a credit balance iu hand of £1 19s 2d. The report expressed a hope .that a team would be sent to play Pahiatua this summer, and pointed out that the Colyton team won the championship last year, with Birmingham and Carnarvon' second, these tbree country teams having gained supremacy over the leading centres. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr F. Y. Lethbridge ; vicepresidents, Messrs Cotter, Arbon, and H. P. Lance ; secretary, Mr A. H. Tompkins ; treasurer, Mr A. G*. Carty ; auditors, Messrs A. C. Matheson and H. L. Sherwill. Correspondence was received from Mr A. E. Welsh, secretary of the Pohangina Club, asking that his club be admitted to the Association. A similar application was received from the Sandon Club. Resolved, That the Pohangina and Sandon Clubs be admitted to the Association. These Clubs having become affiliated to the Association, were represented by the following gentlemen : — J. G. Browne and L. E. Heade, Pohangina ; H. Bishop and M. Eew, Sandon. Resolved, Tbat a vote of £2 2s be granted to the Feilding Club for the use of their ground last year. A letter was read from the N.Z. Cricket Council, Christchurch, stating the fee for affiliated associations was 21s. An invitation was received from a Wellington cricketer to send a team there during the season. Resolved, That the same arrangements as existed last year relative to cup matches be carried out again this year. Resolved, That the three clubs scoring most points in matches play off return matches before the championship is decided. The advisability of sending a team to Pahiatua and, also, of sending a team for a Christmas trip was discussed, and ( will be further dealt with at the next meeting. Resolved, That Mr A. H. Tompkins draw up fixtures for the season. Resolved, That a vote of thanks be accorded to the gentlemen who held office last year. Resolved , That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Mrs Lethbridge and the otber ladies who provided refreshments for the teams visiting Feilding last season. The meeting then adjourned.
