Apiti Sports.
A public meeting of those interested in the above sports was held in Guy's Hall last Saturday. Mr Guy was voted to the chair and explained that the meeting had been called to form a fresh committee so as to give all a chance of making a success of the sports. The following officers were elected : — Patron, Mr F. Pirani, M.H.R. ; President, Mr W. Vicary; Vice-Presidents, Messrs James, McMillan, E. Cummerfield and H. Bennett ; Treasurer, Mr E. F. Eagar ; Secretary, Mr Adam Cartwright ; Committee, Messrs Duncan, B. LeProu, Byrne, McConnell, "W. Wilson, Stewart. Thompson, G. Rankin and Red. It was decided that the remaining officers should be elected at a future date. A vote of thanks to the chairman brought the public meeting to a close. After the public meeting the committee met and appointed Messrs J. McMillan, G. Rankin, Byrne, Eagar and Curnrnerfield a ground committee, to look at suitable sites and report to a meeting next Saturday, the 28th inst.
