The following returns are announced : — Big River, 2:300z amalgam from IQo tons ; Keep it-Dark, l."»0oz amalgam from 120 tons ; Buller Dredge, 220z gold for 88 hours' dredging ; Progress, 2'i2oz amalgam from 2*20 tons of stone ; Globe, l;j0oz amalgam from RJO tons. /UTKLAMi, Sept 21 Business was brisk on the Stock Exchange to day, with a decidedly better demand for Thames aud Karaugahakc shares. News of the probable sale of the Maori Dream mine caused shares tc go off at 4s, but there were further sellers at iss 4d. Aoreres still sell at 2s, aud Golden Aucbors at 2s 4d, whiie Phcenix shares have advanced to Is ld. Thames stocks sold well, Moanatairi advancing from 0s Gd yesterday to 10s Gd to-day, with further buyers at lis and no sellers under 12s. May Queens again changed hauds at 13s 2d, and Alburuias at 7s 3d. The monthly crushing of the Try Fluke has yielded SOooz. This Day. The Hauraki miue at Coromandcl crushed 100 tons for the mouth, which yielded 2820 ounces of gold of the value of 1*8,460, averaging nearly lo ounces per tou. Last month the yield averaged Hi ounces. During the preseut year 21/J49ozs lOdwts of gold, worth £65,848, were wou from the mine. Cable advice from London states that .£4OOO have been forwarded to Auckland out of the capital subscribed for tbe Woodstock United Gold Miniug Co. Masterton, Sept. 21. The Masterton syndicate which sent a man to Coolgardie a few months ago has received a cablegram intimating that things arc booming, and the members of the syndicate are iv high glee.
